As relayed by Assassin’s Creed YouTuber The Hidden One on X, the leaked Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake now appears on PEGI’s website. PEGI provides age ratings for games across Europe before their release, and the 18 rating also reveals that the remake is titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag was originally released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2013, starring Edward Kenway. It takes place during the Golden Age of Pirates, and it is best known for introducing the naval ship combat that was used and refined in later installments, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Ubisoft hasn’t announced a remake of Black Flag, but it’s reportedly releasing before March 31, 2026. According to leaks from Jeux Vidéo Magazine, a French YouTuber who has correctly leaked Assassin’s Creed details in the past, the Black Flag Remake removes the modern-day storyline in favor of more content with protagonist Edward.
In addition to removing the modern storyline, the remake reportedly implements the RPG-style gameplay, loot, and gear statistics seen in recent Assassin’s Creed Installments, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and Shadows.
Although Black Flag is the sixth game released, it is the tenth in the series’ chronological timeline. It takes place well after Odyssey, so perhaps we can get an Easter Egg for Odyssey’s leading lady, Kassandra, seeing as she’s an immortal being brought back in Valhalla. Ubisoft has also hinted at bringing Kassandra back in Assassin’s Creed Shadows as part of something bigger than just a bronze statue in a cave.
The Black Flag Remake could potentially be revealed at The Game Awards on December 11. Ubisoft has yet to confirm its appearance, but Ubisoft Montreal has confirmed that the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake is skipping Geoff Keighley’s event.
